After a strategic review process, we made significant changes to the PhD program starting from 2016. We reduced the number of required credits for graduation from 42 to 30 and put a stronger emphasis on research. The purpose behind reducing the number of required credits is to allow students to dedicate more time to research. Under the current system, PhD students are encouraged to conduct research as early as their first year and to collaborate with our diversified faculty.
