The Department of Accounting and Statistics was established in 1958. In 1966, the Department was divided into the Department of Accounting and the Department of Statistics. The Graduate School of Accountancy was set up in 1969 and its accounting doctoral students program started in 1991. In 2000, the EMBA program was set up.
Currently, there are 456 undergraduate students, 117 master students, 24 doctoral students, and 65 EMBA students enrolled in the Department. Over the years, faculty members with Ph.D. degree in accounting from the United States have joined the department. These new faculty members have not only strengthened the overall research environment in the department, but also benefited the students by using innovative teaching methods and skills.
